 My
fishing partner and I have stayed at Ruffies with Herb and Judy for
4 seasons now. We have fished southeast Alaska for over 20 years and
this is the best place we have stayed in all that time. Unbelievable
salmon and halibut fishing within minutes of the dock. The views of
scenery and wildlife are second to none. We are do-it-yourself fishermen
and their equipment and facilities are just what we were looking for
when we found their place. After a great day of fishing, we relax
and enjoy the hospitality of Herb and Judy and the rest of their great
staff. The great meals followed by Herbs famous pies top the day off
in a wonderful fashion.

In
the Summer of 2005, we selected Point Baker, Alaska to be the beginning
rendezvous location for our boating groups (Ninth Annual Alaska Rally).
This was in part due to its prime location to the West Coast of Southeast
Alaska's pristine cruising and fishing grounds, but also for the enthusiasm
and friendliness shown us by Herb and Judy Hoyt of the Point Baker
Trading Post. The Hoyts welcomed our fleet of boats and provided an
outstanding gourmet dinner and breakfast for our group. After days
of cruising, it was a real delight to be welcomed and treated to the

 I
have been fishing at Point Baker with Herb and Judy for several years
now. The accommodations are very comfortable and the food is great.
We rent a n 18 ft. Lund skiff and are out own guides. Fishing is great!
Every year I catch 10-15 lb. Coho. My biggest is 18 lbs. With some
patience and a little work you can catch Halibut, Ling Cod, and catch
Sea Bass galore. We set crab pots that Herb provides to us, and see
whales every year. Herb and Judy are the finest host and hostess that
I have ever run into. The food is outstanding! This year we asked
Herb and Judy if we could have some of the Halibut we had caught cooked
for supper. Without a moments hesitation they prepared the best halibut
feed I have ever had! If hospitality and good fishing is what you're

Thanks
for a wonderful time this past Labor Day weekend! I caught the biggest
Silver of my fishing career (18 lbs.) and boy what a fight he put
up! The most fun was without a doubt the dinners. Artie's MMMMM-Halibut
and Lon's "Sake It To Me Salmon". What great food! It was
only exceeded by the quality of the company. I truly mean that. I
try my best to be the nicest person I can be. You have taken being
nice to another level because you are providing service to the pubic
as well. I really enjoy the atmosphere you are able to present. It
is a gift that few people have. I feel honored to have found one of
those people in you. My Herb and Judy winter healthy and well - and
